World Down Syndrome Day 2026

Solihull Moors Foundation is proud to dedicate this weekend’s activities to World Down Syndrome Day, highlighting the power of inclusive football to inspire, empower, and bring communities together.

On Friday, the Foundation will be hosting a Down Syndrome Football Festival on behalf of Birmingham County FA, bringing together teams from across the region, including Solihull Moors Foundation, Sky Blues in the Community, and Midlands Down Syndrome FC, for an evening of football, friendship, and celebration.
The festival will be more than just matches. It will provide a space for players to develop their skills, boost confidence, and enjoy the game in a supportive environment.
Scott Langford, Disability & Inclusion Manager at Solihull Moors Foundation, said:
“We are incredibly proud to host this Down Syndrome Festival in support of World Down Syndrome Day. It’s about celebrating the players, their families, and the opportunities inclusive football can provide. Events like this create confidence, community, and a sense of belonging, showing that football is for everyone.”
On Saturday, the Foundation will continue the celebrations alongside Solihull Moors FC during the home game against Halifax Town FC. Supporters are encouraged to join in recognising World Down Syndrome Day and celebrating the players whose passion and positivity remind us why inclusive sport matters.
