West Midlands Mayor Visits Solihull Moors Foundation
We were delighted to welcome the West Midlands Mayor, Richard Parker, to Solihull Moors Foundation — the official charity arm of Solihull Moors Football Club — for a morning of celebration, community connection, and shared ambition.
The visit began with a guided tour of our facilities, where the Mayor learned more about our key initiatives, which included our Holiday Camp along with a variety of ongoing youth activities. This was followed by the opportunity to meet our dedicated staff, passionate volunteers, and the young people who take part in our programmes.
One of the day’s highlights came when the Mayor joined in a lively penalty shootout against ‘Soli’ the Moorkat — a moment filled with laughter, cheers, and friendly competition.
Joe Butler, Foundation Community Operations Manager, stated: “It was wonderful to share the incredible stories behind our work and for him to meet the Friends of the Foundation, who play such a key role in our community impact. His genuine interest in what we do, both on and off the pitch, made the visit a real pleasure, and we look forward to welcoming Richard back to one of our fixtures soon.”
The visit was a fantastic opportunity for the Solihull Moors Foundation to shine a light on the passion, commitment, and creativity that drive our projects every day. It also showcased the vital role sport can play in bringing people together, raising aspirations, and creating lasting change in the lives of young people across the Solihull Borough.
