Solihull Moors Foundation wins Outstanding Campaign Award
Solihull Moors Foundation has won the Outstanding Campaign Award at the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner’s Outstanding Citizens Awards 2026 for its work raising awareness of violence and intimidation against women and girls.
Head of Foundation Joe Butler and Disability and Inclusion Manager Scott Langford collected the award on Monday 28 September.
A campaign with a lasting purpose
In September 2025, the Foundation partnered with West Midlands Police to host an awareness event at Solihull Moors Football Club. The event brought together organisations, professionals, survivors and members of the community to discuss violence and intimidation against women and girls.
Speakers included West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster, victims’ advocate Natalie Queiroz MBE and Nick Gazzard OBE, founder of the Hollie Gazzard Trust.
Representatives from Birmingham County Football Association, Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid, Solihull Integrated Addiction Services, Solihull Council, West Midlands Police and the West Midlands Safer Travel Team also attended, alongside former Mayoress of Solihull Annette Mackenzie. Together, they contributed to an evening focused on education, prevention and support.
The event showed what community organisations and football clubs can achieve by working together. For the Foundation, it was part of a longer commitment. Through its programmes, partnerships and the reach of Solihull Moors Football Club, the Foundation continues to raise awareness, encourage conversation and build relationships with organisations working to address these issues.
A message from our Head of Foundation
Joe Butler, Head of Solihull Moors Foundation, said:
“Winning this award is an incredibly proud moment for everyone involved with Solihull Moors Foundation.
It recognises the dedication and collaboration behind the campaign, as well as our commitment to continuing this work.
“Last year’s event brought together inspirational people and organisations. What matters now is keeping those conversations going, raising awareness and using our platform to make a difference.
“I would particularly like to recognise Scott Langford, whose passion, hard work and commitment have played a huge part in driving the campaign forward. He embodies the values of the Foundation and deserves enormous credit.
“This is a collective achievement. I would like to thank our entire Foundation team, West Midlands Police and all our partners for their support. We are proud of what we have achieved together and remain committed to building on it.”
More than football
Solihull Moors Foundation delivers community programmes for children, young people and adults through education, sport, disability and inclusion, youth engagement and other initiatives. Its work addressing violence against women and girls is part of its wider commitment to safeguarding and community wellbeing.
The Foundation thanks West Midlands Police, the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office, its campaign partners, speakers, supporters and everyone who has contributed to this initiative.
This award is an important milestone in ongoing work to raise awareness and help create safer environments for women and girls.
