Solihull Moors Foundation Teams Up With Resorts World For Women’s Euros Celebration Event

Solihull Moors Foundation and Resorts World joined forces to deliver a fantastic day of football-themed fun to mark the Women’s Euro final, and what a day it was!

Set against the picturesque lakeside backdrop at Resorts World, the free, family-friendly event welcomed over 70 boys and girls, with families and fans coming out to enjoy a vibrant afternoon of sport, sunshine, and celebration.

At the heart of the event was The Football Olympics — a six-part challenge designed to test young footballers’ speed, accuracy, and control. From penalty shootouts and slalom sprints to football bowling and archery-style challenges, participants rose to the occasion with enthusiasm and impressive skill.

While the Football Olympics delivered the action, the surrounding festivities brought smiles to fans of all ages. Free face painting kept younger children entertained, while Soli the Moorkat, the club’s much-loved mascot, made special appearances throughout the day—high-fiving fans, posing for photos, and bringing energy and laughter to every corner of the event.

Jordan Murphy, Head of Football, stated: ‘The Euro Celebration event was a fantastic experience and a privilege to be part of. It was incredibly rewarding to engage with the local community, celebrating women’s football alongside our players and staff. Seeing so many children and families enjoying the day and connecting through football was truly inspiring. The Lionesses retaining the Euros added a perfect finishing touch to what was already a memorable and uplifting day!’

The Foundation’s U18 girls team and staff were on hand to support the challenges, share tips, and cheer on the participants, creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere that captured the spirit of community.

A huge thank you to Resorts World and East Village for their support and helping make the day such a success.
