Solihull Moors Foundation Launches Matchday EA Sports FC26 Competition
Solihull Moors Foundation launched its first-ever EA Sports FC26 competition on Saturday, giving young supporters the chance to take on a first-team player ahead of the Moors’ match at Damson Park.
The new matchday initiative offers three lucky winners the opportunity to test their gaming skills against a Solihull Moors player, creating an exciting experience that brings young supporters closer to the Club.
Academy graduate and first-team footballer Charlie Footes joined participants for the inaugural competition, meeting supporters and taking them on at EA Sports FC26 before kick-off.
Speaking about the experience, Charlie said: “It was great to engage with young fans and see the other side of a matchday.”
The competition forms part of the Foundation’s wider commitment to providing inclusive opportunities for young people, strengthening connections between the Club and its community, and creating memorable experiences beyond the football pitch.
Solihull Moors Foundation Partnerships Manager Hiten Pankhania said:
“Football has an incredible ability to bring people together, and initiatives like this show the power of community in action.
“We want to make sure young supporters have access to experiences that feel special, inclusive and genuinely memorable. Giving them the opportunity to spend time with a first-team player and enjoy a different side of matchday is a fantastic way to help them feel connected to the Club.
“Seeing the excitement on their faces and hearing such positive feedback from their families is exactly why these opportunities matter.”
For those involved, the first competition proved to be a memorable addition to their matchday.
Vicki, whose son Daniel took part, said:
“Daniel absolutely loved playing Fifa against Charlie prior to the match. It was such an amazing experience for us both. Getting to spend time with a player was so much fun and the staff at Solihull Moors really made the day so special for us. Thanks to the players and Club for making special memories happen.”
Another parent, Neil, added:
“Fantastic idea. Thanks to Solihull Moors Foundation for the opportunity. Josh enjoyed it and enjoyed meeting Charlie too on the day.”
Following the success of its launch, the Foundation looks forward to giving more young supporters the chance to take part and enjoy a matchday experience they will never forget.
