Match Report: Solihull Moors vs West Bromwich Albion (FA Cup)
Solihull Moors Women bow out of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup following defeat to tier three side West Bromwich Albion.
In front of a packed out crowd at Studley both sides were eager to book their place in the next round.
It was Moors who created the first clear chance around the 18 minute mark. Annie Highway cleared the ball from the box and into the visitors’ half, Tirana Grizzle latched onto a loose back pass but was unable to find the target.
Not long after, West Brom’s Amaya Hammond-McLean cut inside and sent a curling effort towards the goal hitting the post, narrowly missing the opener.
As the half progressed, Rubi Dawson produced a fine save, tipping the ball over the bar and forcing a corner.

The second half began with West Brom breaking the deadlock. Marli Rhodes caught Dawson off her line and fired it home from distance, to give the visitors the lead.
Minutes later, the visitors doubled their advantage when a powerful low cross was played into the stride of Jess Keeling who unfortunately turned it into her own net.
At the 53 minute mark, following excellent build up play, Humera Ashfaq found herself being brought down in the box, forcing a penalty to be given. Ashfaq stepped up, aiming for the bottom corner, but the keeper did well to save it.
The visitors added a third soon after, as Liv Rabjohn delivered a superb cross into the box, finding Zoe Creaney, who headed home.
Dawson was called into action again, unleashing another outstanding save with an outstretched arm, diving across goal to claim the ball and deny West Brom of their fourth, leaving it 3-0 at full-time.
Despite the fantastic efforts of everyone wearing yellow and blue, Solihull Moors Women exit the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
