Match Report: Solihull Moors vs Redditch Borough (H)

Solihull Moors secured their first three points of 2026 with a 2–0 victory over Redditch Borough.

Despite the freezing conditions, both sides started brightly, looking to make an early impact on the game.

It was  Moors who took the lead when a free kick from Annie Highway, sent in from her own half, found Humera Ashfaq, who fired it past the keeper.

Redditch Borough worked the ball well into several dangerous areas, but the Moors defence stood firm to deny them any clear opportunities.

Moors nearly doubled their advantage after some wonderful play, however Georgia Neath just strayed offside, meaning the score remained 1–0 heading into the break.

As the second half started, Redditch were quickly in search of an equaliser, with their attacker attempting to lift the ball over Zoe Millington. However, she reacted well, getting a hand to the effort to keep her side ahead.

Moors were then awarded a penalty when Highway was brought down in the box. Ashfaq confidently stepped up and fired the ball in off the post to extend the lead.

Soon after, a header from Gina Burton was blocked by the keeper, with Ashfaq slotting home the rebound. However, the linesman ruled the effort offside.

Redditch created a fantastic chance to pull a goal back, forcing a superb fingertip save from Millington.

In the closing minutes, a Redditch corner led to a scramble in the box, but Millington dealt with it brilliantly to ensure the ball stayed out and secure all three points for Solihull Moors.
