Match Report: Solihull Moors vs Port Vale
Solihull Moors Women settled for a point a Damson Park as they drew 1-1 to Port Vale.
Port Vale created the first opportunity of the game, as they whipped a free kick into the box, but Zoe Millington was equal to it, making a comfortable catch.
Moors soon responded, with Annie Highway coming close to opening the scoring from a free kick, forcing a solid save from the Port Vale keeper.
It was Moors who broke the deadlock after forty two minutes, following excellent play. Georgia Neath found space on the right and unleashed a powerful effort that thundered off the crossbar and into the path of Highway who made no mistake and slotted home the rebound.
However, the lead was short-lived. Just three minutes later, Port Vale found an equaliser before the break. Lily Jackson’s initial effort was saved by Millington, but the ball crossed the line to bring the visitors level.

Port Vale nearly took the lead early in the second half, as a corner was flicked goal wards from close range, but Millington produced an excellent reaction save to deny them a second.
In the seventy fourth minute, Moors created themselves another chance as the ball fell to Highway from Daina Scott but her shot was narrowly off target.
Moments before full-time, Moors carved out one final opportunity as Grace Cheneler found space and fired a shot that struck the side netting.
Despite both sides pushing for a winner, neither could find a breakthrough, leaving the score level at the final whistle.
