Match Report: Shifnal Town vs Solihull Moors (FA Cup)
Solihull Moors Women progress into the Third Round Qualifying of the Adobe FA Cup after winning 2-1 against Shifnal Town.
Both sides started brightly, each determined to make their mark on the game. Around the 10-minute mark, Moors came close when Maz Redmond-Lyon struck the woodwork after Georgia Neath’s whipped cross found Humera Ashfaq, who laid it off neatly for Redmond-Lyon.
As the half started to draw to a close, a cross from Connie Allen into the box, found the feet of Ashfaq who guided the ball onto the post, agonisingly close to the opener.
However, it was Shifnal who broke the deadlock. Their forward latched onto a chance and chipped the ball over Zoe Millington to take the lead.

With the second half underway, Moors pushed for the equaliser while Shifnal looked to double their lead but neither side could find the net.
With 10 minutes to play, Ashfaq played through on goal but was denied by the quick reactions of Shinfal’s keeper.
The breakthrough came in the 89th minute. Ashfaq tapped the ball to Chloe Cumberbatch on the edge of the box, showing great compsure, she lifted it, leaving the keeper helpless.
Just two minutes later, Izzy Pioli picked up the ball 25 yards from goal and unleashed a stunning strike, firing over the keeper to complete a dramatic late turnaround.
The win sees Moors progress to the next round of the FA Cup.
