Match Report: Redditch Borough vs Solihull Moors

Moors came into the game hoping to build on their 3–3 draw away at Shifnal, but it was the hosts who started on the front foot. Rosie Axten opened the scoring for Redditch Borough, as she tapped it home past Zoe Millington.

Moors’ first chance came through Eva Buckley, who picked the ball up on the edge of the box and let fly, but her effort was comfortably gathered by Abby Dadson.

Just before the break, Redditch came close to doubling their lead, but Millington produced an important save to keep Moors in the game.

As the second half opened up, Moors began to find their footing, and the game settled into a more balanced contest.

The second half opened up, with both sides seeing plenty of the ball and the game becoming more end-to-end.

A dangerous corner from Lexi Blaxland caused problems and found Gina Burton, whose header looked destined for the net until Dadson pulled off an excellent save to keep Redditch in front.

Moors continued to push for an equaliser, but it was the hosts who struck late on. In the eighty-seventh minute, Alisha Sheridan found the top corner from close range all three points for the hosts.
