Match Report: Alvechurch vs Solihull Moors

Solihull Moors Women returned the winning ways as they score five in an action-packed win over Alvechurch.

Both sides started brightly looking to make their mark on the game. However, it was the hosts who created the first chance, but Zoe Millington reacted quickly to make a fantastic close-range save to deny the early lead.

It wasn’t long before Moors came close, with Humera Ashfaq striking from the edge of the box, but the Alvechurch keeper dealt with it well to keep things level.

Minutes before half-time, Eva Buckley fired a free kick into the box which was parried by the keeper, but Jess Keeling was there to tap it home.

As the second half opened up, Beth Gallagher delivered a free kick to the back post where Gina Burton doubled the lead.

Alvechurch responded positively, as a free kick sent into the area by Maddie Miles, found its way into the back of the net.

Moors responded instantly as Georgia Neath drove down the right and fired a cross for Nat Liput who calmly slotted it into the bottom corner, making it three.

Around sixty-second minute, Ashfaq added another as she lifted her shot from the edge of the box into the top corner.

As the game started to draw to a close, Tiarna Grizzle cut it across the face of the goal for Maz Redmond-Lyon to fire home, confidently sealing a 5-1 victory.
