Match Preview: Solihull Moors vs West Bromwich Albion (FA Cup)

Solihull Moors Women welcome West Bromwich Albion to Studley Sports Centre on Sunday for the First Round Proper of the FA Cup.

Moors turn their focus to the FA Cup week this week as they preapare to face tier 3 side, West Bromwich Albion.

Manager, Joe Kirkland, had this to say ahead of the clash:

“As we welcome West Brom to Sunday’s match, it’s an important reminder to reflect on the progress we’ve made over the last year. West Brom are two leagues above us and are in-form, recently defeating Boldmere 5-1 who sit one league above. A result against West Brom would be a major upset in this years FA cup. A huge challenge sits right in front of us, but with that comes an opportunity to display how good we are in terms of our professionalism, and attitude to be the best that we can be. I hope everyone coming down on Sunday enjoys the match.”

The Opposition

West Brom, who are currently third in the table, are looking to start their FA Cup journey brightly and progress into the Second Round Proper.

A player to watch out for is Phoebe Warner, who is current top goalscorer for the Baggies with 6 goals in 8 appreances so far this season, making her a key player in the squad.
