Annual Christmas Meal 2025

Solihull Moors Foundation were delighted to host its annual Christmas Meal on Saturday, welcoming over 100 families and elderly residents from across Solihull, including those from new communities, for an afternoon of festive celebration and togetherness. Building on the success of last year’s event, this year’s Christmas Meal was bigger and better, reflecting the growing reach and impact of the Foundation’s work within the community.

Together, our partners helped us to provide a warm and inclusive environment where families and the elderly could come together to enjoy the festive season, connect with one another, and share in the joy of Christmas. Guests were given a delicious three-course Christmas meal, generously prepared and provided by The Regency (special mention to Nick Windsor), which was enjoyed by all and formed the heart of the celebration.

Throughout the afternoon, the venue was filled with laughter, conversation, and festive cheer. Our guests took part in a range of activities including a fun and interactive quiz, dancing, and a raffle, all of which helped create a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. A special thank you to Walking Football and partners who generously donated raffle prizes. A visit from Father Christmas was a highlight of the afternoon, delighting children and adding an extra touch of Christmas magic to the celebrations.

The Christmas Meal was particularly meaningful for many attendees, offering not only a dining experience but also an opportunity to feel welcomed and supported during the festive period. By bringing together people from different backgrounds, generations, and new communities, the event helped to strengthen connections, reduce isolation, and foster a strong sense of belonging across Solihull.

Solihull Moors Foundation were honoured to welcome the Mayor of Solihull and leader of the council Karen Grinsell to the event. Their attendance highlighted the importance of community-led initiatives and demonstrated strong local support for activities that bring people together and promote wellbeing.

Madam Mayor stated: “The afternoon truly captured the very best of Solihull. To see families, friends, and members of our community brought together in such a joyful and welcoming atmosphere was incredibly moving. I am deeply thankful to Solihull Moors Foundation for hosting such a wonderful Christmas meal, to the Regency hotel for their generosity, to our local businesses for their support, and to the many dedicated volunteers who gave their time and kindness so freely. From the moment everyone arrived, there was happiness, warmth, and togetherness in the room – a beautiful reminder of the spirit of Christmas and the strength of our community supported tirelessly by Solihull Moors Foundation and Solihull Moors FC. It was a real privilege to be part of such a special afternoon. I would also like to offer special thanks to Joe and his team – whose hard work, care and dedication made the afternoon such a wonderful success.”

A huge thank you to all businesses and individuals whose generosity made this event possible; The Regency, Infinitive Music, Eric Lyons, SMSA, The Forest, Sans Restaurant, Nivea, Lil-lets, Disco Bowl, Man Commercial, Graeme Longstaff, Solihull Arden Club, Christine and BJ, Chris Millington, John Lewis and Solihull Council.

A special thank you also goes to Darryl Eales, Cheryl Cooper, club staff and all volunteers who dedicated their time, enthusiasm, and hard work to ensure the event ran smoothly and was enjoyed by everyone in attendance.

Solihull Moors Foundation is proud to have delivered a Christmas event that was bigger and better than last year and look forward to continuing to create inclusive, positive experiences for families and the elderly across Solihull throughout the year.
